Ola amigos e familia!!!
I had a wonderful time this week lots of exciting things happened.
Monday-
We had our p-day and we got to see the Paços dos dukes which is basically a palace. It was really big and had lots of old age thing in it. It was really cool to visit. We also cleaned the house, because I like living in a clean house. That was about all that happened on Monday. Tuesday-
We didn’t have our district meeting today because we had our Zone Conference on Wednesday. Today was pretty cool. We had a lesson with the referral we had received. His name is Luis Cardoso. He is a very interesting fella. So we ended up talking with him about what he knows so far about our church. He knew about the basics which was pretty good. He was taught by Sisters Missionaries before us so he was asking why we weren’t sisters and where he could talk with sisters. We didn’t know why he was talking about that but ya. It ended up that he just had a huge crush on one of the sisters that were teaching him and when he found out that we were going to teach him he lost interest and started going on about all this weird stuff. Ya he wasn’t all there in the head. But we tried our best with him. We ended up having a lesson but it took forever. So we will see how it will go next time we talk with him. We also had some really good lessons this day as well, with Madalena, and then João Carlos.
Wednesday-
Today we had our Zone conference which was fantastic! Not because it was a great conference but because I got to see my awesome friend Elder Jenson FINALLY!!!! It took about half a year to see him hear in Portugal. He is doing great and looking great as well (I have a picture of us attached to this email). It was so good to see him; it was also weird to talk to him in a different language as well. Just think when we both have returned from our missions we can speak Portuguese to each other. Hopefully one day we can be companions that would be wonderful.
Thursday-
So today was a really good day. We got to have a lesson with Madalena (the one who is marked for baptism) and it went fantastic! We were getting info for her baptism paper. We also asked who she wants to baptize her and she picked me. I was super excited when she picked me. I’m glad that I can be a part of this special experience for her.
Friday-
Today we had our weekly planning like we do every Friday. Elder Belo doesn’t like to do weekly planning (not in a bad way) it takes about 3 hours and it can get kind of boring at times, but really fun at the same time. We always have fun doing it. Today we had a lesson with a less active named Paulo Morais. He believes in the Bok of Mormon and that this Church is true but he didn’t yet believe much in Joseph smith. So we had a lesson about that. It turns out he thought that Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon so we explained that he translated it by the power of God. After that was a big, “Ohhhhhhhh, ok I get it now, I believe in Joseph Smith now”. Wow just a bit of incorrect info and he was lost and confused. This just shows how important it is to teach this message clearly.
Saturday-
Not too much happened today it was kind of a weak day but it was still good. So I’ll just leave it at that.
Sunday-
Today we had Madalena in church and she loved it. She is so ready for her baptism on the 18th and I am too. She is going to make such a wonderful member and an even better example to her family. This week has been such an amazing week. I love it here and I’m loving this work. I also love each and every one of you. Hope you guys have a wonderful week alright :)
