Hello every one!!!
So this week has been pretty fun. I’m not sick anymore so that’s an upside to things haha. So let us begin!
Monday- Today was a cool p-day we got to eat lunch at a really cool Brazilian place called Rodizios. It is super good. It’s when they come bring meat on a stick and they cut if for you and you just take what you want. It was so good. I love Brazilian food!
Tuesday- This morning was really funny because when I was making some hot chocolate in the microwave, it blew up right when I opened it (the back of it so I was safe). So our microwave broke and that was really funny. We called the office Elders and told them what happened and they said they would get us a new one. They are so awesome. Today was good because we had a division with the Elders from Alverca. I stayed here in Povoa with Elder Empey and Petersen went to Alverca with Elder Rich. We had a great division. Elder Empey is super humble. He only has about 6-months out on the mission but he is an amazing missionary! I learned a lot from him during our division.
Wednesday- This morning we ended our division in Alverca. When we went to the chapel we stopped by a bread shop and we got some really good bread. It was so yummy. It’s called "pão de Deus" (Bread of God) so ya with a name like that it better be good haha. Then it took a while for us to get back to our area because we had to wait for a train, but we eventually got back haha. When we did the office Elders said they were at our house with our new microwave and my package. We got two packages haha. Later tonight we had our family night. This sisters are in the Açores (Islands of Portugal) doing a division with some sisters there. So we had to teach the lesson. It was great. We showed an old church clip. They all got a kick out of it.
Thursday- Today was a cool day. When we were out and about looking for some new people we were knocking on some doors. We knocked the door to this man named Varela. He told us that he had talked with the missionaries once before and liked it. He moved and didn’t have contact with them. He is a bus driver so his work hours are always crazy. He told us that he would like to talk to us once again. He is really cool. He just gave us his number and everything. Our prayers were answered, we had found a new person to teach. It will just be a little hard to find a time when we can teach him, but we will find a way. Later tonight we had English class. It was fun. We talked about Christmas and what they wanted for Christmas. Then after we passed by Sandra and Rodrigo. Rodrigo wasn’t feeling very good so they asked us to give him a blessing and we did. Elder Petersen did the oil and I gave the blessing. Later Sandra told us that he was feeling a lot better and that it was because of the blessing. Let me just say the priesthood is amazing!!!
Friday- So today we had a division with our Zone Leaders. I stayed here with Elder Fish and Petersen went to their area with Elder Puriri. We had a blast. Elder Fish actually trained Elder Petersen so that was pretty cool. We passed by some people Elder Fish knew. Later tonight we had dinner with a member with the sisters as well. It was a really good dinner. Elder Fish is a great example to me and a great leader. He really has all his mind focused on his mission and really wants to help this mission become even better. He is a great Zone Leader.
Saturday- So this morning we ended our division with the Zone Leaders. Our Zone Leaders are really funny. We later got back in our area and then we started getting ready for our ard Christmas party. I made a soup for the party and everyone loved it. I guess my cooking skills are paying off haha. We had a really great party. We had lots of members, less-active, and investigators there. It was an awesome party. We had a little Christmas activity and then we had a huge dinner. The food was amazing.
Sunday- This morning was a little cold. It was supper foggy again, but church was great today. In sacrament meeting we had some really great talks about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I always like listening to the sacrament talks. It always invites the spirit into my life. After church we went back home for lunch. Today was raining like crazy. We were walking in the road and the out of nowhere it started to rain very heavily, like big drops of rain. We got socked haha, but it was super fun. While we were doing contacts some lady came up to us and asked if we celebrate Christmas. I explained to her that we did and I shared a Christmas card with her and explained about it. She was very happy to receive the card. We then got her info so we could pass by her house and share our message with her. She was very nice with us. It was very cool. I always like it when people will come to us. Then later we passed by Rodrigo to see how he was doing. He was doing a lot better. His mom was saying that it was because of the Blessing that we gave him. It was a great Sunday.
So that was basically my week. It was a great week. We still have a lot more to do, but we are getting there. Thank you for everything that all of you guys do for me. It really means a lot. I love you all so much. Hope you have a great week and enjoy that Christmas spirit!!! Smile and be happy J
