So this week was pretty awesome. We have been doing lots of work in our area and having lots of fun at the same time. Elder Katipunan and I are on Fire!! Man being a missionary is so AWESOME!!
Monday
So we had an awesome P-day. We got to go to the beach and take lots of pictures and "walk" in the water a little bit. It was so fun. Then we had a family night with the branch and we played some games, it was really fun.
Tuesday
We had our district meeting this morning and it was very good again, just like always! Later we passed by some people. We passed by Jorge a recent convert. He showed us his birds and they were so pretty. He is awesome. Then we meet a new person named Angela. She is so cool. We taught her the second lesson and she loved it. She was saying that it makes sense and she believes in it. So we found a new investigator to teach.
Wednesday
Today we went to another area of ours called Santiago do Casem. We passed by a lot of less actives, but a lot of them weren’t home. We decided to go and knock on some doors. We ended up knocking on the door of a man named David. He was so cool. We taught him the first lesson at the door. He told us that he is Catholic but doesn’t go to church (because he doesn’t like what they do). He wants to raise his kids so they can have a background of God and teach them to pray. He said he would read the stuff we would give him, and if he likes it then he said we could give him a Book of Mormon and he would read it.
Thursday
This morning we passed by a less active and the person didn’t live in that house, but we talked with the lady who did live there and she let us teach the first lesson to her. She was super nice and was agreeing with what we were saying. She loved talking to us and especially about church and God. Later we were knocking doors and we found a man named Mikyel (Michel) from Brazil. He told us that he was never baptized but he wants to follow Christ and be a missionary like us and help others come unto Christ. He is so cool. We sat down with him and talked for a bit and then we taught him the first lesson. He loved it and said that he believes this and knows that God wants him to hear this. So we found an elect there. This week we have been finding a lot of new investigators to teach. I love blessings haha!
Friday
This morning we had our weekly planning and it went super great, very organized. Then after lunch we went on a little less-active hunt haha. We had an area with a lot of less-actives and we decided to pass by them all. It was hard to find their homes because the roads here in Portugal are not organized and it’s a big mess. We ended up finding a really cool less active that said we can pass by and teach them again. Her children are not members so we can help with that haha. We can reactivate them.
Saturday
This morning we passed by a recent convert named Ismael. He is a 14 and loves to skateboard, and goof off. We were talking to him and he wanted the lesson at a park next to his house so we went to the park. After the lesson he wanted to do a pull-up competition. It was fun. Then later some scouts from Spain came over and wanted to play on the bars as well. People from Spain speak Spanish. When they were speaking to us I could understand them. Not 100% but we could talk to each other. Portuguese and Spanish are similar in some ways, but different in others. About 3 of them spoke a little bit of English so we could talk to each other. It was really cool. I made some new friends from Spain. Then we passed by some members who have a grandchild who is not baptized. We got to know him and share a little message with him. His name is Duart. He is 9 and he is hyper active haha. He is really funny.
Sunday
Today was a crazy Sunday. The Branch President was late to church because he lives far away and sometimes he has to work in the morning. He is a baker and he drives a car around the town and people will walk to the car and buy his bread. My companion and I had to do everything at church. We both taught classes and then I conducted the sacrament. In the middle of the sacrament the Branch President walked in. It’s good for us to learn how to do these things. I love our Branch President too, he is so funny and a great member. Then after lunch my companion taught me how to re-size a tie (to make it from a big tie to a small tie). He is really good at it. Then we passed by some people and had some great lessons. Then at the end of the day before we went home we went to the church to make brownies for our family night on Monday. They are really good brownies. I got a recipe from Elder Doxey when I was in Beja.
That was pretty much our week. It was an awesome week and I can’t wait to have another one. I love you all so much and hope you all enjoy this week and have a blast. Oh and always remember to smile J its good for the soul haha.
