Ola amigos e família!!!
What is up everyone, how are ya? Well Elder Rusnell over here is doing fantastic! I’m having a blast training my new companion and doing missionary work. Elder Rosenkilde and I are such a great team. I am going to have my companion say a small message to all of you in his own language it is so COOL!!!

Translation: Hey how's it going with all of you on the other side of the pond? I love every second I have the opportunity to spend with Elder Rusnell . He is a wonderful missionary and you should be very proud of the work he does here with the great people who live in Santo André .
How cool is that? This week has been really fun. We had lots of stuff going on as always which is good.
Monday we had our family night and I taught the lesson. What I did was I first read a scripture 3 Nephi 12: 14-17 which talks about how we need to shine our light that we are given. It uses a candle as an example. I found a make your own candle kit and I made a candle in front of them. Then explain that each part represents something that we need to do to let our light shine. Then we lit the candle up and made light. It was a really good lesson.
Tuesday we had our first district meeting. It was also my first meeting as the district leader so I was a little nervous, but they said I did really well, which made me really happy.
Wednesday we passed by a lady in our area who was friends with Elder Rosenkilds’ mom. She didn’t really want to have a lesson but we got to talk to her for a little bit which was really cool.
Thursday we were supposed to have a lesson with Mikyel, but he canceled on us so we marked to pass another day. We have an investigator named Shela and she teaches at a school for language and one day we were talking to her and she asked if we would like to help with the English class and help teach English to kids. We said yes we would. So next week she will tell us what days we can do it and how we can help. It is going to be so much fun plus it will be a great way to get in touch with the kids here in Santo André.
Friday we went to Sines to go do some work over there. We have a member who lives over there so she went out and walked with us to go pass by some people which was really helpful. So here is a funny story: While we were in Sines it was time to go on the bus to go back home. When we had arrived there was no bus. The bus had left without us. We still had about 5 min till the bus was supposed to leave, but it left early. We thought it was the last bus for the night so we were like WHAT?!?!? We decided to sit there for a while more. Pretty soon a smaller bus came by and as the driver was dropping people off he said he would pass by Santo André as well so we got on and ended up getting home haha.
Saturday we passed by a less active named André. He is about 14 years old and he is really cool. We were talking about questions of the soul and how he was really confused about a lot of stuff regarding religion. We talked to him for a bit and cleared somethings up for him. He is a really smart kid, he is just being taught the wrong stuff in school. He said that he didn’t know if God is real or not. He wants to know if He is real and if we have a purpose in life. We explained to him about the Plan of Salvation and it went really well. He is just such a great kid.
Sunday both of the new elders gave talks and they both did really great. The both shared really great messages. Here is a cool story that happened today. During the middle of a class a lady walked in and asked if she could sit down with us and listen to our messages. We said of course you can with big smiles on our faces. Later she told us that she came to church because she was feeling really sad in her life and that she felt that she needed to go to church. She remembered that she had a picture of Christ and on the back of it was the address of our church here in Santo André. It turns out that we had given this card to this lady last transfer and when we did she said that she would go to church one day and today was that day. She cried during the class when she was reading a scripture out loud and said she just felt so happy here. Later we talked with her and she explained her story to us and said that she wants us to pass by her house and talk with her about the gospel and to her family as well. We are so excited about that. Miracles really do happen!! Today it also rained a little bit and for some reason the whole area of Santo André went black. All the power went out for about 30 min. We don’t know why but it wasn’t a big problem. Our week has been really fun. I love you all so much. Have a great week and keep on smiling.
